The youngest son of noted film composer Ilaiyaraaja began his musical career in 1996, when he composed the film score for Aravindhan. He got his first break with Thulluvadho Ilamai soundtrack. Now he is one of the most popular composers in the Tamil film industry. Yuvan has also composed music in the Telugu film industry and has scored music for a couple of Malayalam films as well. Last week, the composer’s Sathriyan was released. It is his first album for 2017. Yuvan also has several promising films including Nenjam Marapathillai and Mannavan Vanthanadi with Selvaraghavan, Santhana Devan with director Ameer, Director Venkat Prabhu’s Sandakozhi 2 and STR’s Anabanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan in his kitty. Soon his BGM score for Selvaraghavan’s film ‘Nenjam Marappathillai’ will be released. He is well known in Kannada film industry as many of the remakes and dubbed version of Tamil movies retained his compositions in Kannada language also. Most of the filmmakers who buy the remake rights pay for the songs also. So his tunes are already a hit there. Officially, he is making his debut with Gowdru Hotel. Reportedly, Yuvan has already composed five tunes for this movie. Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja will be making his debut as a producer with ‘Kolaiyuthir Kalam’ directed by Chakri Toleti with Nayanthara in the lead. Now that the shooting of ‘Kolaiyuthir Kalam’, has began in London Yuvan is starting his composition in Kannada movie. Yuvan has given been credited as composer for five Kannada films which were remake of Tamil films. They are Jolly Boy (Pathinaru), Ajith (Paiyya), Madana (Manmadhan) and Gilli (7G Rainbow Colony).
