Diganath was recovering from an injury which he suffered while shooting for a Bollywood film. Nearly a year ago, a stiletto hurled by Amyra Dastur during the shoot hit his face and injured his eye. Now he is back in action and seen in recently released Chowka. Tharun Sudhir’s debut as director and Dwarakish Chitra’s 50th film, Chowka is leaving a lasting impression on the movie goers. It is about four youngsters who end up in jail, even though they have committed no crimes. Diganath is paired opposite Priyamani in this movie.

Now he is reported to have signed another movie which is the remake of Malayalam movie “Charlie.” The lead in the original movie was played by Dulquer Salman. The story starts with graphic artist Tessa (Parvathy) moving to a new place to get away from a marriage proposal. The room was previously occupied by Charlie and Tessa goes through his belongings and comes upon a story which is incomplete. Thus starts the search for Charlie who is a free spirited person.  He brings smile on the face of everyone he meets and sees the positive side of the life. Martin Prakkat along with Unni R co-wrote the script. They must be praised for crafting a film that entertains as well as makes you think about your life. The original cast has Dulquer Salmaan, Parvathy, Aparna Gopinath, Nedumudi Venu playing the important roles in the movie. It was directed by Martin Prakkat.

The Kannada version is to be directed by G N Rudresh, whose debut film ‘Hai’ got released this week. The makers are in the search for the leading lady of the movie. With all the details finalized the movie will go on floors.
