“Hebbuli” seems to be facing lots of controversies. Sudeep had earlier come out in support of Kirik Party in their case for the song ‘Hey Who Are You’. They seem to be facing the same allegations now. Lahari Recording Company that had previously filed a case against Kirik Party also sent a legal notice to Hebbuli producers accusing them of copying a song.

Eros International has also alleged that ‘Hebbuli’ producers have copied a song from their film Badlapur. Apparently, later on they agreed that only one word in the entire song resembles their original song. Also there were videos circulated of an English song in social media from which another song was alleged to be copied.

Suddenly there has been lots of allegation of copyright infringement of songs because of a new audio technology called acoustic fingerprinting. So when new songs are uploaded on a site like YouTube, it is easy to determine whether it is copied from a song that already exists on the site. It is for the protection of the rights of the music company.
