The Karnataka State Film Awards were announced recently in which actress Sruthi Hariharan won the Best Actress award for her acting in Beautiful Manasugalu and actor Achyuth Kumar won the Best Actor award for his performance as a pourakarmika in the film ‘Amaravathi’. Actress Sukratha Wagle was not happy with the results of the awards as her film ‘Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu’ which received very good reviews from critics was ignored at the award ceremony and failed to win an award.
The actress who had two releases last year in the form of ‘Ricky’ and ‘Neer Dose’ went on a rant on her social media. She posted a congratulatory message on her wall, saying, “Congratulations to all the winners of #KarnatakaStateFilm awards. Happy for u all. But just one hard feeling that nobody remembers the #Blockbuster #film#FemaleOriented movie based on Poornachandra Tejaswi sirs very popular story Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu (sic).”
She went on to say that she is now concentrating on her work and is trying her level best to give good performances. By experimenting with her roles, she is trying to reach wider audiences through her choices. She also said that she doesn’t bother about winning awards as it doesn’t matter to her anymore. She criticized the awards shows by saying that such ceremonies do not recognize or encourage talent in any way. The actress proclaimed that the award shows these days have become a business and she believes that such award shows function with a price tag. She ended her rant by saying that viewers are wise to know the truth.
